Spot the causes of moisture at home
WATER INFILTRATION
Moisture can easily penetrate through the porous structure of the walls on our homes, especially in damp weather conditions.
WATER VAPOR CONDENSATION
Temperature differences, in combination with poor air circulation, can lead to moisture condensation and tiny droplets of water to condense on walls or windows.
WATER MAINS LEAK
A dripping tap or leaking dishwasher / washing machine can result to high condensation, which can lead to damaged floors or walls.
HUMAN ACTIVITIES
Bathing, showering, cooking, drying clothes or mopping floors are activities that increase moisture at home. A family of 3 members produces more than 12 liters of water vapor per day.
LEAKING CRACKS
Small defects tend to appear within the insulation in walls and foundations of buildings. It allows the water to penetrate the walls in this way.
